- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Optional: crushed red pepper flakes, chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook penne pasta in salted boiling water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Add heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese and cook until sauce thickens.
- Return sausage to the skillet, add cooked pasta, and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve hot.
