Scale
- 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for 5–7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and stir to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits.
- Add heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Stir until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened, about 3–4 minutes.
- Return chicken thighs to the skillet and spoon sauce over them. Simmer for 5 more minutes to heat through and meld flavors.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.
Notes
- Use boneless, skinless thighs if preferred; reduce cook time accordingly.
- Add spinach or mushrooms to the sauce for extra flavor and texture.
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half or milk for cream.
