- 12 oz penne pasta (or any pasta of choice)
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Boil the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Season & cook the shrimp: Toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Sauté shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Make the sauce: Reduce heat to medium and melt butter in the same pan. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring until smooth.
- Add cheese & pasta: Stir in Parmesan and cheddar cheese, letting it melt into a creamy sauce. Add cooked pasta and toss to coat.
- Combine shrimp & serve: Return shrimp to the pan, mix everything well, and let it heat for 1-2 minutes. Garnish with parsley and enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust Cajun seasoning for more or less spice.
- Substitute chicken or sausage if you prefer.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3 days.
