Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 12 oz penne pasta (or any pasta of choice)
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta: Boil the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Season & cook the shrimp: Toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Sauté shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  • Make the sauce: Reduce heat to medium and melt butter in the same pan. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring until smooth.
  • Add cheese & pasta: Stir in Parmesan and cheddar cheese, letting it melt into a creamy sauce. Add cooked pasta and toss to coat.
  • Combine shrimp & serve: Return shrimp to the pan, mix everything well, and let it heat for 1-2 minutes. Garnish with parsley and enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust Cajun seasoning for more or less spice.
  • Substitute chicken or sausage if you prefer.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3 days.
