Description

Creamy Cajun Sausage Pasta is a quick and flavorful one-skillet meal combining penne pasta, smoky sausage, and a spicy Cajun cream sauce. It’s rich, comforting, and perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz smoked sausage or andouille sausage, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned and crispy on the edges. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add diced onion and cook until translucent. Stir in garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let cook for 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Add grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and creamy.
  6. Return the sausage and cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss to coat everything evenly in the sauce.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan if desired. Serve immediately.
