- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh basil (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare Chicken: Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness.
- Bread Chicken: Coat each chicken breast in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat in a breadcrumb-Parmesan mixture.
- Fry Until Golden: Heat oil in a pan and cook chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Bake: Place fried chicken in a baking dish, top with marinara sauce and mozzarella, and bake for 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish & Serve: Sprinkle with fresh basil and serve hot!
