Description

A comforting classic baked casserole made with tender protein, vegetables, and a creamy sauce, topped with melted cheese and baked until golden.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken or turkey, shredded
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup cooked pasta or rice
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, mixed vegetables, cooked pasta or rice, cream of mushroom soup, and milk.
  3. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika, then mix well.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  6. Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the cheese layer.
  7. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken with beef or keep it vegetarian by using beans.
  • Add herbs like thyme or parsley for extra flavor.
  • Serve with a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
