Description
Cinnamon Sugar Popcorn is a sweet and crunchy snack made by coating freshly popped popcorn in a buttery cinnamon-sugar mixture — perfect for movie nights, parties, or festive treats.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 cups popped popcorn (about 1/3 cup unpopped kernels)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Optional: 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Pop the popcorn using your preferred method (air-popper, stovetop, or microwave) and place in a large mixing bowl. Remove any unpopped kernels.
- In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Drizzle the melted butter and vanilla extract (if using) over the popcorn, tossing gently to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered popcorn, tossing again to evenly distribute the coating.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Notes
- For extra crunch, spread coated popcorn on a baking sheet and bake at 250°F (120°C) for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.
- Use coconut oil instead of butter for a dairy-free version.
- Add a pinch of nutmeg or pumpkin spice for seasonal variation.
- Best enjoyed fresh for maximum crunch.
