Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra fudginess)
- 1/4 cup rainbow or chocolate sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until fully combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the top with rainbow or chocolate sprinkles.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
- Do not overbake — slightly underdone brownies stay fudgy as they cool.
- Sprinkles can be added before or after baking, but baking them in prevents smudging.
- Double the recipe for a 9×13-inch pan.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for longer storage.
