Description

Chocolate Orange Cheesecake is a rich, creamy dessert that blends the bold flavors of chocolate with the fresh zest of orange. This elegant cheesecake is perfect for special occasions and offers a unique twist on the classic treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 24 oz (3 packages) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1/3 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or heavy cream
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Line the bottom of a springform pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter in a bowl. Press into the bottom of the pan to form a crust.
  3. Bake crust for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool.
  4. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  6. Stir in orange zest, orange juice, sour cream (or heavy cream), vanilla extract, and salt.
  7. Fold in the melted chocolate until fully combined.
  8. Pour the filling over the cooled crust and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 55–65 minutes, until edges are set but the center jiggles slightly.
  10. Turn off oven, leave door ajar, and let cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

  • Use dark chocolate for a richer taste.
  • Top with candied orange peel or chocolate shavings for decoration.
  • Add orange liqueur for an adult twist.
  • Make mini versions in a muffin tin for individual servings.
  • Use a water bath or a pan of water below the cheesecake to reduce cracking.
