Description

A rich and festive chocolate holiday Bundt cake with a moist crumb and deep chocolate flavor, perfect for celebrations and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup hot coffee or hot water
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting or glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a Bundt pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Mix in vanilla extract.
  6. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk to the batter, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  7. Slowly stir in hot coffee or hot water until the batter is smooth.
  8. Pour batter evenly into the prepared Bundt pan.
  9. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with chocolate glaze before serving.

Notes

  • Hot coffee enhances the chocolate flavor but water works as well.
  • Ensure the Bundt pan is well-greased to prevent sticking.
  • Can be topped with ganache or holiday sprinkles for decoration.
