Description

Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch Truffles are no-bake bite-sized treats that blend smooth chocolate, toasted hazelnuts, and crispy cereal or wafers into a rich and crunchy indulgence—perfect for gifting or enjoying as a decadent snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup toasted hazelnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crispy rice cereal or crushed wafers
  • Cocoa powder, melted chocolate, or chopped hazelnuts for coating (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream and butter over medium heat until steaming but not boiling.
  2. Pour hot cream over chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Let sit for 1–2 minutes, then stir until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract, chopped hazelnuts, and crispy rice cereal or crushed wafers until evenly combined.
  4. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for about 1 hour or until firm enough to shape.
  5. Use a small scoop or spoon to roll the mixture into 1-inch balls.
  6. Roll truffles in cocoa powder, melted chocolate, or chopped hazelnuts, if desired.
  7. Chill the finished truffles for 15–30 minutes to firm up before serving.

Notes

  • Use milk chocolate for a sweeter version.
  • Add espresso powder for mocha flavor.
  • Mix in shredded coconut or citrus zest for variety.
  • Swap hazelnuts for almonds, pecans, or walnuts.
  • Tempered chocolate coating gives a glossy, professional look.
