- 2 large apples, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds
- 1 cup dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut
- 1/4 cup toasted chopped nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans)
- 2 tbsp mixed seeds (e.g., chia, pumpkin, sunflower)
- 1 tsp lemon juice (to prevent browning)
Instructions
- Slice apples into rounds and remove the core from each slice. Brush lightly with lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler until smooth.
- Dip half of each apple slice into the melted chocolate and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle shredded coconut, toasted nuts, and seeds over the chocolate-dipped portion while still wet.
- Let set at room temperature or chill in the fridge for 10–15 minutes until chocolate hardens.
- Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
Notes
- Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Fuji for best texture.
- Try variations with dried fruit pieces or a drizzle of white chocolate.
- Best enjoyed the same day to maintain crispness.
