- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough onto the baking sheet (about 2 tablespoons per cookie).
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden but the center is slightly soft.
- Let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For extra chewy cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- Use dark or milk chocolate chips for variety.
