Description

These Chocolate Caramel Pecan Treats are the ultimate sweet and salty snack! Made with pretzels, gooey caramel, creamy chocolate, and crunchy pecans, these bite-sized delights are perfect for parties, holidays, or gifting.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 bag of mini pretzels
  • 1 bag (11 oz) of caramel candies (unwrapped)
  • 12 tbsp heavy cream (optional, for smoother caramel)
  • 1 bag (12 oz) milk or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • Flaky sea salt (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Assemble the Base:
    • Lay mini pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Melt the Caramel:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the caramel candies with 1-2 tablespoons of heavy cream (if using) in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth and melted.
  4. Add the Caramel:
    • Using a spoon, drop a dollop of melted caramel onto each pretzel, covering the center.
  5. Top with Pecans:
    • Place a pecan half on top of each caramel-covered pretzel, gently pressing it down so it sticks.
  6. Melt the Chocolate:
    • In another microwave-safe bowl, heat the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring until completely melted and smooth.
  7. Drizzle the Chocolate:
    • Spoon or drizzle melted chocolate over the caramel and pecans, fully or partially covering the top.
  8. Cool and Set:
    • Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired. Let the treats sit at room temperature or refrigerate for 20-30 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
  9. Serve or Store:
    • Transfer the treats to an airtight container. Store at room temperature for up to 1 week or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Nut-Free Option: Swap pecans for chocolate candies or another topping.
  • Caramel Hack: Use pre-made caramel sauce if you’re short on time.
  • Gift Idea: Package these treats in small bags or boxes for a festive homemade gift!
