- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 4 sandwich buns
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 4 slices of cheese (optional)
- Pickles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat and drizzle with olive oil.
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Cook chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and golden brown. Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice to make the sauce.
- Toast the sandwich buns lightly if desired.
- Spread the sauce on the top and bottom halves of each bun.
- Layer the sliced chicken, cheese (if using), lettuce, tomato, and pickles on the bottom half of each bun.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
Notes
- Grilled or pan-fried chicken both work well for this recipe.
- Customize with your favorite sandwich toppings or sauces.
- Leftover cooked chicken can also be used.
