Description

Cheesy Herb Crusted Chicken Bakes are juicy chicken breasts coated in a crunchy herb and breadcrumb crust, topped with melted cheese and baked to golden perfection. An easy, satisfying family dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Pound chicken breasts to even thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, mix olive oil or melted butter with garlic and Dijon mustard (if using).
  4. In a separate bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan, oregano, thyme, parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  5. Brush chicken with the garlic mixture, then press each piece into the breadcrumb-herb mixture to coat thoroughly.
  6. Place coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Top each with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Optional: Broil for 2–3 minutes to brown and crisp the top.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use panko for extra crunch.
  • Broil briefly after baking for a golden, crispy finish.
  • Customize the herbs or cheese based on preference.
  • Assemble ahead of time and refrigerate before baking.
  • Use a meat thermometer to prevent overcooking.
