Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 beef or chicken hot dogs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp ketchup or mustard (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven – Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the Buns – Slice open the hot dog buns slightly (without cutting all the way through) and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  • Insert the Hot Dogs – Place one hot dog inside each bun.
  • Brush with Butter – Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning, then brush it over the buns for extra flavor.
  • Add Cheese – Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese generously over the hot dogs.
  • Bake – Place in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish & Serve – Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve hot with ketchup or mustard.

Notes

  • For a crispy bun, broil the hot dogs for the last 2-3 minutes.
  • Add cooked bacon bits or caramelized onions for extra flavor.
  • Use different cheeses like pepper jack or gouda for a twist.
  • You can also wrap the hot dog in crescent dough before baking for a fancier version.
