Description

Cheese Tortellini with Parmesan Cream Sauce is a quick and comforting pasta dish featuring tender cheese-filled tortellini coated in a creamy, garlic-infused Parmesan sauce. It’s perfect for busy weeknights or casual entertaining.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb cheese tortellini (fresh or refrigerated)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook tortellini according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  4. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg if using.
  6. Add cooked tortellini to the sauce and toss gently to coat.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Add cooked chicken, shrimp, or pancetta for extra protein.
  • Incorporate peas, spinach, or sun-dried tomatoes for added flavor and nutrients.
  • Use half-and-half or a mix of milk and cream for a lighter sauce.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Reheat gently with added cream or milk to preserve sauce texture.
