Description

Soft, savory, and loaded with flavor, this Cheese and Herb Bread is perfect for sandwiches, snacking, or serving alongside soups and salads. Made with a simple dough, fresh herbs, and melted cheese, it’s an easy, homemade bread that tastes bakery-fresh!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (parsley, rosemary, thyme, or chives)

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

  • Extra herbs and cheese for topping

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

  • Add the warm water and olive oil, stirring until a dough forms.

  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Notes

  • Mix and match your favorite cheeses and herbs to customize the flavor.

  • This bread freezes well — slice and freeze for easy future snacks.

  • For an extra savory kick, brush the top with garlic butter after baking.
