Description

The Cheddar Double Cheeseburger is a bold, juicy burger featuring two seasoned beef patties, layers of melted sharp cheddar, and fresh toppings on a toasted sesame seed bun. It’s the perfect indulgent meal for any burger lover.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 sesame seed burger buns
  • 4 cherry tomatoes or 2 tomato slices
  • Pickles or sliced cucumbers
  • Lettuce or fresh herbs (optional)
  • 2 tbsp burger sauce, mayonnaise, or mustard
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil (for toasting buns)

Instructions

  1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into thin patties. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
  3. Place a slice of cheddar on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  4. In a separate pan, toast burger buns with a bit of butter or oil until golden and crisp.
  5. To assemble: spread sauce on the bottom bun, add one cheese-covered patty, then the second, followed by tomato slices, pickles, and lettuce or herbs.
  6. Add more sauce if desired, top with the bun lid, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use a burger press for evenly shaped patties.
  • Try different cheeses like blue cheese or gouda for variety.
  • Add caramelized onions, bacon, or jalapeños for extra flavor.
  • Uncooked patties can be frozen for up to 2 months.
  • Use brioche or potato buns for a gourmet touch.
