- 2 sesame seed burger buns
- 4 cherry tomatoes or 2 tomato slices
- Pickles or sliced cucumbers
- Lettuce or fresh herbs (optional)
- 2 tbsp burger sauce, mayonnaise, or mustard
- 1 tbsp butter or oil (for toasting buns)
Instructions
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into thin patties. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
- Place a slice of cheddar on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- In a separate pan, toast burger buns with a bit of butter or oil until golden and crisp.
- To assemble: spread sauce on the bottom bun, add one cheese-covered patty, then the second, followed by tomato slices, pickles, and lettuce or herbs.
- Add more sauce if desired, top with the bun lid, and serve immediately.
