- 500g ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 cubes cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175 °C (350 °F).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Form mixture into 12 small balls.
- Press a cube of cheddar cheese into the center of each ball and seal meat around the cheese.
- Place meatballs in a baking dish and bake for 20–25 minutes, until cooked through and golden brown.
Notes
- Use mozzarella or pepper jack cheese for a different flavor profile.
- Finely diced bell pepper or spinach can be added to the mixture.
- Brush with BBQ or ketchup glaze before baking for extra taste.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven at 165 °C (325 °F).
- Freeze uncooked or cooked morsels and reheat directly from frozen at 175 °C (350 °F) for 25 minutes.
