Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

  • 3 cups rice cereal or crushed nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and salt.
  3. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and caramel-colored (5–7 minutes).

  5. Press half the mixture firmly into the pan to form the base.
  6. Bake for 10–15 minutes until golden and set.
  7. Pour remaining caramel mixture evenly over baked base.

  9. Bake an additional 10 minutes.
  10. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
