Description

These Caramel Chocolate Bars are layered with buttery shortbread, chewy homemade caramel, and a luscious chocolate topping. The ultimate treat for caramel lovers — rich, sweet, and no fork required.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • Pinch of salt

Caramel layer:

 

  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt (optional)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line 9×13-inch pan with parchment.

  • Mix melted butter, sugar, flour, and salt for shortbread. Press into pan. Bake 20 mins until lightly golden. Cool slightly.

  • In a saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar, syrup, and condensed milk. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly for 10–12 mins until thick and golden. Pour over crust. Chill for 30 mins.

  • Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil. Pour over caramel. Spread smooth.

 

  • Chill 1–2 hours until set. Slice into bars and DEVOUR.


Notes

  • For salted caramel vibes, sprinkle flaky sea salt on top of the chocolate.

 

  • Keep refrigerated for cleaner slices.
