- 1 box white cake mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- Red and green food coloring gel (optional)
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Add Festive Colors (Optional):
- Divide the dough into two equal portions. Add red food coloring gel to one portion and green to the other. Mix each until the colors are fully incorporated.
- Chill the Dough:
- Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This step helps make the dough easier to handle and creates fluffier cookies.
- Shape and Coat:
- Scoop the dough using a tablespoon-sized cookie scoop. Roll each portion into a ball and coat generously in powdered sugar. If the dough is too sticky, add a tablespoon of flour and mix gently before shaping.
- Bake the Cookies:
- Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the cookies are set and the edges are slightly crisp.
- Cool and Serve:
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 1–2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
