For Vanilla Buttercream:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
- Pinch of salt
For Chocolate Buttercream:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Make Vanilla Buttercream: Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, cream, and salt. Mix until smooth and fluffy.
- Make Chocolate Buttercream: Follow the same process, adding cocoa powder with the powdered sugar.
- Pipe & Decorate: Use immediately for cupcakes or store in the fridge for later use.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
- For extra fluffiness, whip for an extra 2 minutes.
