- 1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes (about 10 cups)
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread half of the bread cubes in the dish.
- Scatter cream cheese cubes and blueberries evenly over the bread layer.
- Top with the remaining bread cubes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread, pressing gently to help absorb the liquid.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight, or at least 4 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Let the casserole sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking.
- Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Top with powdered sugar or additional maple syrup if desired.
