Description

This Blackberry Cream Cheese Danish is a flaky, buttery pastry filled with a luscious cream cheese filling and juicy blackberries. Topped with powdered sugar, it’s a bakery-style treat perfect for breakfast or dessert!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz (1/2 block) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • Powdered sugar for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into rectangles or squares.
  • In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Spread a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each pastry piece.
  • Top with a few blackberries.
  • Fold or crimp the edges of the pastry slightly.
  • Whisk together egg and milk, then brush over the pastry for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.
  • Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • You can use frozen blackberries, but thaw and drain them first to avoid excess moisture.
  • Try adding a drizzle of honey or a lemon glaze for extra flavor!
