Description

This elegant Black Forest Cake Slice layers moist chocolate cake, sweet cherry filling, and whipped cream frosting, finished with dark chocolate glaze and fresh cherries. A timeless European dessert made irresistible!


Ingredients

  • 2 chocolate sponge cake layers (8-inch)

  • 1 cup cherry pie filling or sweet cherries + sugar

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup chocolate ganache (dark chocolate + cream)

 

  • Fresh cherries and chocolate curls for topping


Instructions

  • Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.

  • Layer one cake round, add cherry filling, then whipped cream.

  • Top with second cake layer.

  • Pour ganache over the top and let it drip.

  • Decorate with cherries and chocolate curls.

 

  • Chill at least 1 hour before slicing.

  • Use kirsch (cherry liqueur) for authentic flavor.
