For the Stir-Fry:
- 8 oz (225g) noodles (lo mein, udon, or rice noodles)
- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 medium carrot, julienned
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
For the Sauce:
- 1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions
- Cook the Noodles:
- Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain, rinse under cold water, and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, honey, garlic, ginger, and red chili flakes (if using). Set aside.
- Cook the Beef:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced beef and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Stir-Fry the Vegetables:
- In the same skillet, add the remaining oil. Add broccoli, bell pepper, carrot, and onion. Stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until crisp-tender.
- Combine the Ingredients:
- Return the beef to the skillet with the cooked vegetables. Add the cooked noodles and pour the sauce over the mixture.
- Toss everything together and cook for 2–3 minutes until heated through and evenly coated.
- Serve:
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
