  • 8 oz (225g) noodles (lo mein, udon, or rice noodles)
  • 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles:
    • Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain, rinse under cold water, and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, honey, garlic, ginger, and red chili flakes (if using). Set aside.
  3. Cook the Beef:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Add the sliced beef and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. Stir-Fry the Vegetables:
    • In the same skillet, add the remaining oil. Add broccoli, bell pepper, carrot, and onion. Stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until crisp-tender.
  5. Combine the Ingredients:
    • Return the beef to the skillet with the cooked vegetables. Add the cooked noodles and pour the sauce over the mixture.
    • Toss everything together and cook for 2–3 minutes until heated through and evenly coated.
  6. Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
