Description

BBQ Beef Rice is a rich and satisfying rice bowl featuring tender, caramelized beef glazed with smoky barbecue sauce, served over fluffy rice and topped with a runny egg and fresh garnishes.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb beef ribeye or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine BBQ sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and brown sugar to create a marinade.
  2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade and let sit for 15–30 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook until caramelized and fully cooked, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. In a separate pan, fry eggs to your preferred doneness.
  5. To serve, place warm rice in bowls. Top with BBQ beef, a fried egg, chopped green onions, and sesame seeds.
  6. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Use chicken, pork, or tofu as a substitute for beef.
  • Kimchi rice or fried rice can be used for a flavor twist.
  • Add sautéed vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
  • Top with spicy mayo or sriracha for added heat.
  • Fry eggs fresh to maintain the perfect yolk texture.
