Description

The Bang Bang Chicken Sandwich is a bold and crispy sandwich made with breaded chicken breast, drizzled in a sweet, spicy, and creamy bang bang sauce, all served in a soft bun. It’s a crave-worthy fusion of heat and crunch.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce or slaw (optional)
  • For the Bang Bang Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 12 tbsp sriracha (to taste)
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Dredge each breast in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken for 4–5 minutes per side or until golden and fully cooked. Drain on paper towels.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey (if using) to make the bang bang sauce.
  5. Lightly toast burger buns. Place lettuce or slaw on the bottom half of each bun.
  6. Add fried chicken on top and drizzle generously with bang bang sauce.
  7. Top with the other bun half and serve hot.

Notes

  • Bake or air-fry for a healthier version.
  • Use chicken tenders or thighs instead of breasts.
  • Add spicy slaw or pickles for more flavor contrast.
  • Brioche or pretzel buns enhance the sandwich experience.
  • Keep sauce and chicken separate until serving to maintain crispiness.
