A simple and delicious appetizer or side dish featuring fresh asparagus spears wrapped in crispy bacon, perfect for grilling, roasting, or baking.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bunch of asparagus (about 1 lb), trimmed
- 8–10 slices of bacon (thin-cut works best)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: balsamic glaze for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Trim the tough ends off the asparagus spears.
- Toss the asparagus with olive oil, garlic powder, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Bundle 3-4 asparagus spears together and wrap with one slice of bacon.
- Place the wrapped bundles seam side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and asparagus is tender.
- Optional: drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
Notes
- Thin-cut bacon crisps better than thick-cut.
- For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2-3 minutes.
- Can be grilled instead of baked.
- Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
