- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet or white chocolate chips, melted and cooled slightly
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Assorted coatings (crushed candy canes, holiday sprinkles, shredded coconut, cocoa powder, crushed cookies, chopped nuts)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar gradually and mix until fully incorporated.
- Stir in melted chocolate and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour, or until firm enough to shape.
- Once chilled, scoop and roll mixture into 1-inch balls using a spoon or small cookie scoop.
- Roll each truffle in your choice of festive coating (sprinkles, candy canes, coconut, etc.).
- Place coated truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet and chill for another 30 minutes to set.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Notes
- Use gloves when rolling to keep the mixture from sticking to your hands.
- Customize with extracts (mint, almond, orange) or swap in flavored chocolate chips.
- Truffles can be frozen for up to 1 month—thaw before serving.
