Description

These Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps are a quick and flavorful meal, packed with savory ground chicken, crunchy water chestnuts, and a delicious umami sauce. Perfect for a light yet satisfying dinner or appetizer!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts, diced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 head butter lettuce

Instructions

  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft.
  • Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add ground chicken and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Add water chestnuts and green onions, mixing well.
  • Spoon the mixture into lettuce leaves and serve warm.

Notes

  • Swap ground chicken with ground turkey or tofu for a variation.
  • Add a dash of sriracha for extra heat.
