For the Burger Patties
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
For the Burger Sauce
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tsp pickle relish
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
For Assembly
- 4 sesame seed burger buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup lettuce, shredded
- 4 slices tomato (optional)
- 4 slices pickles
- 1/4 cup diced onions (optional)
- 1 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)
Instructions
- Make the Burger Sauce – In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, and paprika. Set aside.
- Prepare the Patties – Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and shape into thin patties. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Cook the Patties – Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for about 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking.
- Toast the Buns – Spread butter on the inside of each bun and toast in a pan until golden brown.
- Assemble the Burgers – Spread burger sauce on the bottom bun, add lettuce, a cooked patty, another layer of sauce, a second patty, and top with pickles, onions, and tomato (if using).
